The Speak Up Light is a simple way for a child to let a trusted adult know they'd like to talk, need help, or aren't ready to explain just yet. It isn't an emergency button, it simply begins the conversation.

The cards are only a starting point. Children can use the notebook to write or draw their own thoughts, or simply use the light to let you know they'd like to talk later. If there are prompts your child would find helpful that aren't included, we can also create custom prompt cards to suit your family's needs.

Introduce it during a calm moment, not during conflict. Let your child explore the kit together with you and explain that it's simply another way to communicate whenever words feel difficult.

No. Speak Up Signal is designed to be flexible. Some children may only use the light, while others prefer the prompt cards or notebook. Your family can use whichever parts feel most helpful.

That's okay. The light simply lets you know your child needs something, whether that's time, comfort, or a conversation later. There's no expectation to explain everything immediately.

No. Speak Up Signal is a communication tool designed to help families begin conversations at home. If you're concerned about your child's wellbeing or safety, we encourage you to seek support from an appropriate healthcare or mental health professional.

Each kit includes a Speak Up Light, prompt cards, a notebook, pencil, parent guide, and optional stickers so children can personalise their kit if they'd like. Every family uses Speak Up Signal differently, and children are free to use whichever parts feel most helpful.

We currently ship throughout Kenya and are happy to assist with international orders. If you're ordering from outside Kenya, please contact us and we'll provide a personalised shipping quote and estimated delivery time. If your kit arrives damaged or incorrect, please let us know within 7 days of receiving your order and we'll do our best to make it right. Because Speak Up Signal is a personal communication kit, we cannot accept returns of opened or used products unless they are faulty.
